Is Civil Engineering a competitive field to get into?

Im in high school and i have recently decided that for my career path i am going to become a civil engineer. I would like to know if the job outlook for a civil engineer is very competitive. I have good grades like a 4.0 average so it shouldn’t be a problem, i would just like to know what im up against and how hard it would be to land a job after i got to UT @ Austin and get a degree? I need a real engineers help with this question!!!

  1. All engineering fields are competitive. They always have been.
    But then again, there has always been a strong demand for all fields of engineering graduates.
    Don’t worry, there will be plenty of work for Civil Engineers by the time you get out of school.
